Sunday, December 19:     Christmas Cantata at 10:15 a.m.   We invite all of Kansas City to join us as we celebrate the joy of Christ's birth through music and song. This year the Choir will be presenting “A Light Still Shines” by Randy Vader, Jay Rouse, and Camp Kirkland. The composers/arrangers describe it as follows: “A Light Still Shines is a Christmas celebration & proclamation. We celebrate the Incarnation, the miracle of God with us in the form of an infant. We proclaim this Infant to be the Messiah, whose Light still shines in all of its glory. We remember the ancient history of Christmas, yet we acknowledge the eternal joy that touches the world today. This timeless story is presented through the combined contribution of the choir, soloists, hosts, keyboards, percussionists, and other technical staff. The hosts are guides as the presentation unfolds. We have elected to call them “hosts” instead of narrators, because they are more warm and conversational.”

As you can tell, this presentation promises to be a bit different than some we have had in the past. We are sure you will enjoy it and hope that it will call forth the very spirit of Christmas for you as you listen and become taken up with the presentation. There will be a reception in the narthex immediately following the presentation. We hope you can join us in this wonderful musical and spiritual presentation and don't forget to bring a friend.

Sunday, December 19:     “Three Wise Men and a Baby” at 6:00 p.m.   This year the Children & Youth Departments are putting on a very special Christmas Musical entitled “Three Wise Men and a Baby." We invite everyone to join us as the children take the stage to tell the "old, old story of Jesus and His love."
