For more than a decade, Grace Baptist's Day Care Ministry has served families in Kansas City north and the surrounding communities. Open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the program includes a preschool designed to allow each child to learn and grow at the appropriate age level. We currently provide care for infants at least six weeks old through children six years of age.
Our program is based on the children learning about God and God's world. They will learn that they are special creations of God. Children will learn to interact with others and learn the value of themselves, others, God, and God's world. As March approaches, I am beginning to get spring fever. Before we know it, the grass will start to turn green. What a miracle! How can we have below zero temperature, the grass dies (then comes alive again!). Reminds me of Easter.
Our day care children will soon be painting with bell peppers to make shamrocks, look for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and coloring leprechauns. To many, the month of March is all about being lucky. What a good thing happened to me, I used to say, “Wow I am so lucky”. Now, as a Christian, I think “Wow, I am so blessed”. Recently I was reading in Matthew 28:19 concerning the great commission. The verse speaks of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, 3, but yet 1. Like the shamrock, it has 3 parts, but it is still only 1 shamrock.
Parents, don’t think of your precious children as just the luck of the draw, you were blessed with the one particular child, just as God has planned. When you see shamrocks this year, think of the trinity – the Great 3 in 1. May you have a blessed March!
