From the Pastor: November 10, 2003

     This is the second version of my notes for this edition of Grace Notes. We were anticipating the opportunity to be challenged by a Thursday through Sunday Evangelism Renewal, a time to learn how we could do a better job of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. However, we have received word that Dr. Jeffrey Johnson will be unable to be with us due to a health problem. After much prayer, consultation with Great Rivers Region staff and several phone calls in an effort to find another speaker, we have decided to cancel this long anticipated event.

     So one opportunity is lost, but the challenge and further opportunities lie ahead! The gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ is still the hope of our crazy, mixed up, sin sick world. It has been said before – if you knew of a sure cure for cancer, you wouldn’t keep it to yourself. In Jesus Christ, we know the cure for sin, so let’s face the challenge to be about the glorious task of sharing the news of forgiveness and new LIFE in him. Let’s pray for Jeff Johnson, and let’s pray for guidance as we seek other opportunities to grow as bearers of good news.
