MORE GRACE

First of all, I want to recognize Mike Reiter for his excellent contribution to this page in the last issue of GRACE NOTES. It was on “Mother’s Day”, and I was unusually pressed for time. My daughter was visiting from Vermont and waiting to take me out to eat when I remembered the article was due. Mike overheard and took over. THANKS, MIKE!

This morning, we finished our five week series of sermons on the subject of “Grace” as found in the book of Ephesians. After studying for, preparing and delivering them, I am convinced that we have only scratched the surface of this truly amazing subject. There is so much more of God’s matchless grace in Christ than we can ever begin to comprehend. Two particular verses come to mind. One especially dear to my heart and experience is Paul’s statement in 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The other goes even beyond sufficiency – the simple statement in the book of James that “…he gives more grace.” In the words of the chorus of an old hymn, “His love has no limit; His grace has no measure; His pow’r has no boundary known unto men. For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.” May each of you experience that matchless grace!

      Rejoicing in that grace,

      Pastor Harriet
