     Sunday, July 10th, the children of Grace Baptist Church will be leading worship. I hope that you will make a special effort to be at church on that day. The theme which they have chosen for worship is “sharing”. I anticipate what our children will teach us about this important topic.

     July is also the month which our Missions Committee has chosen to take the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering or OGHS. The OGHS is a relief offering that American Baptist Churches help support for emergency needs around the world. It was through OGHS that the people of Grace were able to reach out to help with the tsunami relief efforts in Asia. Grace gave a total of $1,763.00 to OGHS to help with emergency food, shelter and medicines. Your outpouring of support for this one-time need was amazing.

     But emergency needs around the globe seldom take a rest. Your gifts this July are needed to meet emergencies in the days to come. The OGHS is our opportunity to reach out to people in desperate need with the love of Christ. Whether it is natural disasters like tsunamis, earth- quakes or hurricanes, or human induced emergencies like famine or war—your gift can make an important difference in the lives of people in crisis. What better time to share. Your gift will also make a difference in your own life as you please God, by sharing your gift. So says the author of Hebrews.
