Thoughts from Pastor Dave: Augsut 29, 2005 Inside Information
Friends,
In the recent days many of you have asked about the final resolution of my family’s plans for Kelly’s completion of her master’s thesis. Those plans have been in flux now for nearly sixth months and we had little final resolution before my wife’s departure on August 16th. With the timing of my vacation immediately preceding her departure, it was difficult to share with you the final details. So let me tell you what we now know in this continuing saga.
Kelly will be working on three items during the semester at Idaho State University. First, and primarily, she will be writing and defending her masters’ thesis. She is already deep in her research and will be meeting with the chair of the English department this week to facilitate the timeline for the completion of her thesis. Second, she will be teaching an English 90 class this fall. A week before she left, she was contacted by ISU and agreed to teach this course. The irony of the appointment is that she is now living 8 blocks from the Pocatello campus, but is teaching in (you guessed it) Idaho Falls. However, the opportunity for teaching experience on her resume will be well worth it. Third, she will be working as a tutor in the writing lab on the ISU campus.
These three activities will certainly keep her busy, and hopefully out of trouble! It also means that she will be at ISU for the full fall semester. ISU finals are scheduled through December 16th and then Kelly and Joshua will drive to KC to be in town for the Christmas holidays. If you would like to contact Kelly, her e-mail address, mailing address and telephone number are available through me or the church office.
Thanks for your loving concern.
See you Sunday,
