Clay County Clothes Closet
Grace Baptist has volunteers who give their time and talents to the Clay County Clothes Closet which was founded in 1959. The Clothes Closet is located at 3939 N. Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, MO 64117.
From their website, “Clay County Clothes Closet is a non-profit organization that provides free clothing to northland families in need. Our volunteers assist children and families who are referred to the Clothes Closet by churches, schools, and social agencies. Originally operated from the basement of a drug store, the Clothes Closet served approximately 125 families in its first year. Through generous donations and community support the Clothes Closet now serves about 2,000 people each year.”
Grace Baptist Church is on the volunteer schedule for the third Tuesday of February, April, August, October and December.
Financial donations are very much needed, greatly appreciated, and tax-deductible! The funds are used to purchase new items to distribute to clients. The Clothes Closet is also in need of donations of good, clean, up-to-date used clothing. Please consider giving!
